Jewel-In Privacy Policy

Anglo East Surety Limited (“we”, “our”, “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) (“PDPO”) of Hong Kong.

When you use the Jewel-In application at participating retailers, we may collect:

  • Your name, contact details, and payment information;

  • Information about your jewellery or watch purchase (including photos, receipts, descriptions, valuations);

  • Geotag and timestamp information when you register your item;

  • Claim information (if you make a claim under your policy).

 

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal data for the following purposes:

  • To issue and administer your jewellery insurance policy;

  • To process premium payments and renewals;

  • To handle and assess claims;

  • To comply with legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations;

  • To communicate with you about your policy or related services.

 

3. Data Sharing

We may share your personal data with:

  • Our insurance partners who underwrite and support your policy;

  • Trusted technology and payment providers who deliver secure hosting, storage, and transaction processing services;

  • Professional service providers such as claims adjusters, legal advisers, and regulators where required by law or contract.

All third parties are bound by strict confidentiality and data protection obligations and may only use your data for the purposes specified by us.

 

4. Data Retention

We keep your data only as long as necessary to fulfil your insurance contract and to meet Hong Kong legal and regulatory requirements. In most cases, this will be seven (7) years after your policy or claim is closed.

5. Security

Your data is stored on secure systems with encryption in transit and at rest. Access is strictly limited to authorised staff and service providers on a need-to-know basis.

 

6. Your Rights

Under the PDPO, you have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal data we hold about you;

  • Request correction of any inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
